I'm very honored to have the cover art as well as a 10-page feature article "Crossing a Bridge" by Michelle Taute in the April 2012 Watercolor Artist magazine. A big thanks to Watercolor Artist and to Michelle.
"the gapstow - central park" 30X22 inches watercolor 14 january 2012
The iconic Gapstow Bridge in New York's Central Park was designed in 1896 by Howard & Caudwell. It replaced the original wood and cast iron bridge designed by Jacob W. Mould in 1874. With it's bucolic site set against the majestic skyline of Manhattan's Central Park South and Fifth Avenue rising up beyond, it has been a favorite subject for painters and photographers for generations. So I hesitated painting yet another view. But I love this spot so much that I thought I'd give it a go.
Just learned that my painting "From Granville Island - Vancouver" was accepted into the 145th International Exhibition of the American Watercolor Society: NYC
The first exhibition in the USA by NAWA (the North American Watercolor Artists) . The Strathmore Mansion Gallery in N. Bethesda, MD. until Feb 4. So great to all be in the same place at the same time for the opening yesterday. Hope you all get a chance to see the show. Standing, from the left: Kathleen Alexander, Nicholas Simmons, Mark Mehaffey. Seated from left: Carol Carter, Tom Schaller, Keiko Tanabe.
Very happy to have my work featured in the "Informed Collector" newsletter hosted by Fine Art Views and Fine Art Studio Online after winning 2nd overall in the November 2011 Boldbrush Competition
