The iconic Gapstow Bridge in New York's Central Park was designed in 1896 by Howard & Caudwell. It replaced the original wood and cast iron bridge designed by Jacob W. Mould in 1874.
With it's bucolic site set against the majestic skyline of Manhattan's Central Park South and Fifth Avenue rising up beyond, it has been a favorite subject for painters and photographers for generations. So I hesitated painting yet another view. But I love this spot so much that I thought I'd give it a go.
