Cropping

Consider the power of cropping. As painters, we can sometimes choose the formatting of our images without too much thought - usually either vertical or horizontal. While one of these is often the way to go, a square format is also an option, but one to be used carefully. A square format tends to stop the movement of the eye - on purpose. Wow! Now this is something that doesn't happen every day - an award from the American Watercolor Society !! I'm so grateful to the awards jury, Frank Webb, Eric Wiegardt, and my first instructor, the one and only Jeanne Dobie for this honor.
