It's a very good example on how to manage light. I find especially interesting how is resolved when light is coming from left and hitting to the buildings. The treatment of background is fantastic.I've learned a lot of it.
Thanks so much Julian. I am trying to organize most paintings these days by means of 3 basic values - dark, light, and mid-tones. And if I can have some of the lightest lights be pure , untouched white paper - all the better! Cheers, Tom.
