My sincere thanks to the jury for selecting my work "Chambers Street -NYC" for the 147th Annual International Exhibition of the American Watercolor Society. It's my 3rd and Signature acceptance , so I'm especially happy, and grateful!
It's a very good example on how to manage light. I find especially interesting how is resolved when light is coming from left and hitting to the buildings. The treatment of background is fantastic. I've learned a lot of it.
Thanks so much Julian. I am trying to organize most paintings these days by means of 3 basic values - dark, light, and mid-tones. And if I can have some of the lightest lights be pure , untouched white paper - all the better! Cheers, Tom.
Congratulations on getting into the show and on your signature membership. I can't think of anyone that deserves it more. Your dramatic lights and shadows in this painting are stunning!
